Two goals from Brendan Brooks helped Braehead Clan to a 5-3 home win over Edinburgh Capitals ending a run of four straight losses.
Ville Hämäläinen opened the scoring after three minutes when Brendan Brooks flicked the puck back to him and he poked in from outside the blue paint.
The home side doubled the lead soon after when a Brooks redirect beat Caps goalie Pavel Shegalo after helping on Craig Peacock’s initial shot from the inside right.
Dmitri Khristich’s side got themselves on the scoresheet just after the restart as Dillon Lawrence finished a low effort to halve the deficit.
But Jacob Doty restored the two-goal lead with a close range effort as he found himself through on Shegalo.
Brooks hit the post, but the home side got their fourth goal with a wonderful individual effort from Christoffer Bjorklund the man to score it,
The Caps scored two powerplay goals to reduce the deficit to two as Marek Tvrdon and Sergei Banashkov both struck to make things a little uncomfortable for the home side.
But Brooks struck on the powerplay with an empty net goal to ease the tension around Braehead Arena as Clan claimed the points.
