Two goals each from Brendan Brooks and Tyler Scofield helped Braehead Clan end a four-game losing streak with victory at Edinburgh.
Both sides have endured a tough time this season so the two points were badly needed from either point of view and it was the Clan who got them.
Brooks was first to find the target with a goal set up by Cameron Burt to put them in front after 14 minutes.
Then they were two up a couple of minutes later as Tyler Scofield doubled the advantage to give Braehead a two-goal cushion by the first interval.
The Caps conjured up some fighting spirit to get on the scoresheet during the middle session as Denis Trakhanov pulled a goal back.
This was followed by an equaliser through Marek Tvrdon with the home side clawing back that two-goal deficit in good fashion.
However Braehead retook the lead shortly after to shorten Edinburgh’s joy, as Brooks was on target again.
Cameron Burt was the man to find the target next to restore Braehead’s two-goal lead and effectively kill off the Caps’ chances of finding a way back.
Then Scofield’s second was the icing on the night as Clan got their fifth to secure a big couple of points at Murrayfield.
