15 March 2016

David 'The Beast' Beatson will play his last Capitals game on Sunday against the Braehead Clan. .

David has played 20 years at senior level in Edinburgh and will retire from playing at both Elite and Scottish National League level.

Scott Neil said, "David is a product of the Murrayfield Junior development system He is one of, if not the, longest serving player for the Capitals. David has put in a lot of time and effort into the game and I wish him well in his retirement from playing. David has made the most of his ability and has been a fantastic servant to the club. He's brought toughness and grit and over the years has fought many of the established import tough guys and won many times. I encourage our fans to celebrate a great, old school British player. This Sunday I hope our fans will rally to recognize 'The Beast'."
