Young talent Harry Ferguson has confirmed his return to the Edinburgh Capitals Academy for the 2017/18 campaign.
The 18 year old joined the Academy last summer having impressed the club whilst icing for the Moray Typhoons in the Scottish National League during season 2015-16.
In his first season with the club Ferguson combined his time training and playing for the Capitals in the Elite League and representing the club in the SNL. He scored his first Elite League level point (assist) in a Challenge Cup tie in Braehead early in the season. He also scored 12 points in 12 games for the Capitals SNL side through the 2016/17 season.
Ferguson is a rising talent in the game and represented the Scottish Under 19 team last season, having also represented Scotland at the same level in 2015-16.
The player is sponsored and employed by Gary Henderson Tiling and will be allowed time away from his work to continue his hockey progress. Gary Hendseron Tiling have been hugely supportive of the Capitals Academy, and in this case Harry in particular. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Gary himself, and firm Gary Henderson Tiling once again for the support.
This season the young forward will look to continue his progress under the watchful eye of coach Dmitri Khristich and add to his 29 EIHL appearances last season.
On his return to the Capitals Harry said "I'm excited to be back for the upcoming season, after last season in which I learned so much from the experienced imports that came in. There wasn't a training session that went by where I didn't take on board new information to develop me as a player."
With regards to the upcoming season Harry added "I hope it will be the same again and there are a lot more young Brits coming into the club, for example Duncan Speirs and the Robertson brothers. I believe the friendly competition will benefit all the British players and push each other to work that little bit harder on and off the ice."
