The Edinburgh Capitals can confirm that 20 year old forward Michael Ireland will be part of the clubs season 2017/18 Elite League squad.

Born in Edinburgh, this will be the local players third season as part of the Elite League roster having made his debut back in season 2015/16.

Ireland came up through the junior ranks at Murrayfield showing great promise at both U-18 and U-20 levels before joining up with the Scottish National League Capitals in 2013-14. The Scottish U-19 international has played in the SNL predominantly for the past four seasons but has been on the fringes of the Elite League squad.

Michael has made solid progress and is a player with great potential who will undoubtedly benefit from his time under Head Coach of the Edinburgh Capitals Dmitri Khrisitch.

Ireland said on signing “I’m really looking forward to this season. I have really enjoyed and benefitted from pre-season training with these really skilled, experienced guys. I am learning a lot and hopefully it will translate into ice time this season for the Capitals. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the club.”
