Defenceman Tyler Plews has confirmed his return to the Edinburgh Capitals 2017/18 Elite League campaign.
This will be the 19 year olds 3rd season with the Capitals having signed for the club in 2015, and the player is looking forward to continuing his development under Head Coach Dmitri Khristich.
Last season saw the Kirkcaldy born defenceman play 41 games for the Capitals whilst also making his Great Britain debut at U-20 level. Plews was selected for the GB squad that travelled to Hungary in December 2016 for the World Championships playing the likes of the Ukraine and Italy in the tournament where he made two assists in five games.
Plews said "I`m really happy to be back in Edinburgh for a third season. It was an easy choice to return with the announcement of Dmitri Khristich as Head Coach. I’m looking forward to working with him. Being coached by a person of his caliber will only bring out the best of me as a player. Looking at next season, there's only been a few signings before me but so far its looking good. It’s a huge boost having Pav (Vorobyev) back and I'm looking forward to seeing who else comes in to the squad. This season I only hope to improve again. I'm looking forward to this new style of coaching and hopefully bettering myself each day on the ice and I want to be a part of a squad competing for silverware. I can’t wait to get started and for the season get underway."
Head Coach Dmitri Khristich said “I’m looking forward to working with Scottish youngsters like Tyler Plews. I want to work with players who know they have to work hard to play on a regular basis in this league. He has good size and combined with the right attitude he can progress and do just that.”
