17 year old Harry Ferguson has joined the Edinburgh Capitals Academy for the 2016/17 season. Elgin born Harry will combine playing with the Capitals SNL side along with training and playing when called upon for the Caps EIHL team.
The youngster will relish the chance to learn his trade here in the capital. The 6ft centre played in the SNL last year with Moray Typhoons scoring 13 goals and 3 assists in 18 games for the club. He has also represented Scotland at various age groups and recently has been involved in the GB set up at Under 18 and Under 20 level.
Scott Neil said of the signing “It’s great to have Harry as part of our Edinburgh Capitals Academy. He will be able to progress his hockey and his education in Edinburgh which is ideal. In terms of his hockey, he’ll get to practice with the Elite League squad and Michal and Martin will agree the best way to manage his development. He’s obviously talented having represented Scotland U-19’s at an early age, and he’s on the brink of GB honours.”
Martin Cingel also added of the signing “Harry is a young kid with a great attitude and a lot of potential. We’ll make sure he gets the best from his training with the Elite League squad and Michal and I will agree the best strategy for Harry. He’s a talented player, it’s now up to him to take the chance and look to impress Michal.”
