Pavel Vorobyev is a Russian forward who has an impressive background which includes playing in the NHL and AHL in the United States, and KHL in Russia. He was picked by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round of the 2000 NHL draft, 11th overall.
Vorobyev had an impressive Junior career having played for the U-18 Russia team who won Silver at the 1999-2000 World Championships. He then graduated first to the U-20 Russian side (7 games) and finally achieved the honour of dressing 4 times for the senior Russian team.
Between 2003-2006 he played 57 NHL games for the Blackhawks scoring 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) for the club. He also scored 98 points from just 168 games for the Blackhawks affiliate in the AHL, the Norfolk Admirals during that period.
Having chosen to move back to Russia in 2006 Vorobyov played in 206 KHL (top tier in Russia) games scoring 68 points, and in the second tier of Russia (the VHL) scored 62 points in just 94 games.
