Fife Flyers ended their three-game weekend with victory as they took two points in an 8-5 win at Edinburgh Capitals.
Chase Schaber got the opening goal for Fife after five minutes with a shot that got the better of Capitals goalie Jordan McLaughlin.
But the home side hit back as Tyler Plews got on the board with an unassisted effort to the delight of the Murrayfield crowd.
However the joy was shortlived when Charlie Mosey sent a shot into the roof of the net to put the visitors back in front before Peter LeBlanc added Fife’s third.
Schaber got a second for Fife early in the middle period before Shayne Stockton made it 5-1 with a shot from the top of the circle.
Edinburgh hit back through Dylan Anderson, but Carlo Finucci restored the four-goal gap on the powerplay by the end of the second period.
Ainars Podzins, with a rocket into the roof of the net, seemed to make in-roads for Edinburgh, but Dan Correale netted as Fife went 7-3 in front.
Anderson got his second of the game, but another from Stockton kept the home team at arm’s length, who netted a fifth through Harry Ferguson.
