League leaders Cardiff took another step towards retaining their Elite League title, dispensing bottom of the table Edinburgh with ease at their Ice Arena Wales home.
Team GB forward Matthew Myers opened the scoring after 11 minutes before Patrick Asselin made it 2-0 just over a minute later.
Fan favourite Joey Haddad then extended the Devils lead to three in the 17th minute before Cardiff captain Jake Morissette added a fourth goal just 31 seconds before the first intermission.
British defenceman Mark Richardson made it 5-0 three and a half minutes into the second period, bagging his sixth goal of the season, before late goals from Matt Pope and Gleason Fournier made it seven at the second break.
Asselin would go on to add his second of the night late in the final frame, rounding out a convincing 8-0 win for the Devils, with goaltender Thomas Murdy recording a 15-save shutout, his first in the Elite League.
