Peter LeBlanc’s hat-trick helped Fife Flyers to a sixth straight Gardiner Conference victory, beating Edinburgh Capitals 6-1.
Fife were ahead after only five minutes when Charlie Mosey teed up Chase Schaber who completed a back post tap-in.
By the end of the period, they were two up as they survived a brief spell of pressure from the Capitals to score up the other end.
Jim Jorgensen set up Peter LeBlanc with a pass from behind the net and the forward sent a powerful shot into the net beyond Caps goalie Jordan McLaughlin.
LeBlanc got his second when he connected with Mosey’s chipped pass and he guided it home as the home side moved further ahead.
Then James Isaacs added number four with a well taken solo goal as the night seemed to get better for the Flyers.
Fife picked up their third goal in a couple of minutes when Ricards Birzins applied the finish as Edinburgh suffered a collapse.
The Caps sorted themselves out and managed to get on the board early in the third when Dylan Anderson struck with a wrist shot from the left that beat Fife goalie Jordan Marr.
Flyers rounded the night off with LeBlanc completing his hat-trick to send Fife level on points with third place Belfast Giants and consigning the Capitals to a 15th consecutive Conference loss.
