Edinburgh Capitals have confirmed the signing of 19 year old netminder Harry Elder for the upcoming 2022-23 SNL campaign.
Sadly, along with this announcement, we must also announce that netminder Dominick Jaglar will unfortunately not be part of the roster for the season due to personal reasons. We would like to wish Dominick all the best for his future.
Head Coach Steven Lynch has acted quickly to find an able replacement in Harry who started his junior career playing in Dundee. Harry then progressed through the years and was rewarded by representing Scotland at the U17 level back in 2019-20.
In the same season, Harry made the step up to SNL level whilst also playing with Murrayfield U20s. The young goalie went on to play 7 games for Murrayfield Racers and gained valuable experience at the senior level. He also guested in one game for Kirkcaldy Kestrels.
Harry signed with the Racers in season 2020-21 but was unable to ice for the team due to their withdrawal from the league. Last year, Harry made the move to join Solway U19s and was also part of the Sharks NIHL setup.
Harry is excited to start his Capitals career. “I’m really excited to be returning to Edinburgh and getting the chance to play and develop in a new team. I can’t wait to get out there in front of the Caps fans and I’m looking forward to getting back on the ice with my new teammates. I’m really excited to learn from Caps new coach Steven Lynch and I hope we have a successful season”
Head Coach Steven Lynch is delighted to get Harry onboard to complete his netminding trio. “It’s disappointing when you lose a player but things happen and we wish Dom all the best. We’ve picked up a very good replacement in Harry who is a little bit older and a little bit more experienced as he’s already got some SNL experience under his belt with Murrayfield Racers. Last season he was part of the Solway Sharks organization in the NIHL so I’m just as confident, if not more so, in the goaltending trio we now have at the club. The team is shaping up nicely with just a couple of spots to fill before our opening game in a few weeks.”
More signing news will be announced soon.
