Paterson Takes On Manager Role

16/09/2022

Edinburgh Capitals have brought in Jim Paterson as the new Team Manager for the 2022-23 Scottish National League campaign.

Jim has a background in hockey having been involved in management at the Junior level, and as part of the Scottish Ice Hockey program over the years.

His son Aiden is a member of the Capitals defensive unit this season.

Jim was delighted to be asked to take on the new role. “When Steven asked me if I would like to get involved in the team, it came as a bit of a surprise! I had spent a bit of time away from hockey and hadn’t been looking to get back in. Seeing my son (Aiden) and the guys on the ice at training stirred up the love of the game again and Steven is building a good team, with a lot of characters, so it wasn’t a hard decision to say yes. I have worked with Steven previously in the Scotland setup and know he is passionate about hockey. I just hope I can help in the background to make his job easier and take care of things in that respect. I had planned to enjoy the season as a parent and a spectator but now I will be a bit closer to the action!”
