Belfast Boy Arrives In The Capital

23/01/2026

Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the signing of young defenceman Jonah Johnson for the remainder of the 2025-26 SNL campaign

15-year-old Jonah currently plays with Belfast Giants Juniors and will play with the Caps when possible over the next few months. Having grown up in the Giants Junior system the 6ft 2” blueliner is taking his first steps into senior hockey and will be a welcome addition to the D unit.

Jonah had this to say on signing with the club, “I’m really looking forward to this opportunity and taking my first steps into senior hockey, especially in Edinburgh for the Capitals. I can’t wait to get started.”

Head Coach Steven Lynch is delighted to bring in another option at the backend, “This is a signing with one eye looking towards the future. Jonah’s a big kid for his age, plays the game beyond his years, and is ready to step into the SNL. We’ve heard nothing but good things about him. We’ll look to get him in the line-up and on the ice as much as possible for the remainder of the season, and we can’t wait to work with him and give him his first taste of senior hockey.”

Jonah will be in the team when we face North Ayr tomorrow down in Auchenharvie.

LET’S GO CAPITALS!
