Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce our 3rd signing for the 2023-24 SNL campaign. It’s another returning player and this time we welcome back forward Sean Cochrane. Sean signed with the club last season having played all his career in the Kirkcaldy Junior system before progressing to the Kestrels SNL team, where he won the SNL title.
In the 2022-23 season, in all competitions for the Caps, Sean scored 14 goals, and 26 assists for 40 points. One of the most memorable moments of last season involved Sean when he scored that game-winning goal against Kilmarnock here at Murrayfield, with 1 second left, from the halfway line! Something we will never forget in the years to come.
The 26-year-old centre will bring speed and scoring to the roster once again and he will be looking to produce another productive season.
Sean had this to say about his return, “I’m happy to be back for another season in the Capital. It was an easy decision to make considering how welcoming the boys, backroom staff and the fans made me feel. Who doesn’t want to be playing in front of 1000+ fans every week in such a great atmosphere?
When I first joined I said I liked the direction Lynchy wanted to go with the team and after the season just passed it showed it was going the right way. Finishing 2nd in the league in our first year is incredible and the plans we have for this upcoming season sound even better. We have unfinished business and I truly believe we will win silverware this season!”
Once again Head Coach has moved quickly to retain another of his top scorers from last season, “It’s great news that we’ve secured another returnee in Sean here at Murrayfield for another year as he was a big part of our success last season. Last summer he made the decision to try something new by stepping out of his comfort zone and taking a lot of unnecessary flack for it but once he hit the ice with us he never looked back and instantly felt at home here.
He’ll always be remembered as the guy that scored THAT goal but there’s a lot more than that to his game which I like and why I wanted him here and the fans got to see that throughout the season. It was another easy, short conversation to get this tied up and we’ll be looking for him to kick on again next season to play his part in achieving our goal of winning the SNL League.”
More signing news will be released very soon.
LET’S GO CAPITALS!
