Edinburgh Capitals are excited to announce that as well as our SNL League and Scottish Cup fixtures this coming season, we will also be participating in a newly formed Northern League.
Four teams will take part – Edinburgh Capitals, Kirkcaldy Kestrels, Kilmarnock Thunder, and NIHL 1 opposition, Blackburn Hawks.
This is the start of a new competition, a crossover league that in years to come hopefully will grow and see more teams looking to challenge themselves against opponents from other leagues.
The format of the Northern League will see all four clubs play each other once at home and once away, for a total of 6 games each. At the end of the round-robin stage, the team that finishes in 1st place will be crowned the Northern League Champions.
Head Coach Steven Lynch is excited to lead his team into the newly formed competition, “The Northern League format will be a good competition for us as an opportunity to chase some more silverware. The additional games will give the fans more to cheer about and we get to test ourselves against another NIHL team in Blackburn Hawks twice throughout the season.”
Tickets for all our home matches in the Northern League will be available to buy soon through the Fanbase app. Stay tuned to our social media channels for further news on this.
Please note that these 3 home games WILL NOT be included in the season ticket.
