The Furry Fella Is Back

Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the return of the best mascot in hockey, Pawz the Lion.

The loveable, cuddly lion will make a return to the Lion’s Den this coming season after a lengthy period of hibernation through the summer months.

Last season. as always Pawz was adored by the Caps faithful and visiting fans. Everyone will be excited to meet him back here in September when the team takes to the ice for the 2023-24 SNL campaign.

We were lucky to catch up with the friendly lion recently to hear what he had to say about re-signing with the team he loves. “It’s me, hi, I’m the signing it’s me! I’m super excited to be joining the Caps once again for the 2023-24 campaign; my 26th season with the club and I haven’t aged one bit! I really can’t wait to get back to the Fridge of Dreams and welcome our loyal fans to MIA each week.

I’ve been working hard in the gym during the offseason, perfecting my high-fiving technique and loosening off the hips for some particularly spectacular dance moves. I’m looking forward to seeing packed stands in the Lion’s Den, hope you are all ready for an exciting season!…and remember, BRING THE NOISE!”

Head Coach Steven Lynch knows how important this signing is to the team. “Pawz was one of the first signings I wanted to make this summer but unfortunately I couldn’t track him down. After the rink cafe closed, he was off! Now hearing he has been working hard in the gym just proves that it is the correct decision to bring him back and lead the team onto the ice each week here at Murrayfield.”

Make sure you say hello to Pawz on game night and grab a photo with him. Rumour also has it that he loves big cuddles and fist pumps!
