Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the new signing of forward Conner McNulty for the 2025-2026 SNL campaign.
Conner arrives at the Caps having spent the previous season playing in the NIHL 1 North with the Billingham Stars. He started the season playing a handful of games with Kilmarnock Thunder before moving permanently to the Stars, where he went on to win a quadruple, lifting the NIHL 1 North Championship, NIHL 1 National Championship, NIHL 1 North Cup, and the NIHL 1 Play Off trophy.
Conner, at only 20 years of age, is a terrific addition to our roster and will bring a lot of youth and talent to the team. Although still relatively young, he has already gained vast experience on his CV, having played in the SNL, NIHL 1, and the NIHL. He also represented Scotland at all age groups in junior as well as playing for GB U18’s back in 2022-23.
The Irvine-born forward grew up playing his junior hockey in Kilmarnock. He took his first steps into senior hockey with the Thunder at the age of 16 back in 2021, and he would grab an impressive point a game in 15 outings. He then had a brief spell at Solway Sharks but remained at Kilmarnock and had a very impressive season in 2023-24, scoring 24 goals and 31 assists for 55 points in only 26 games. That same year, he would have spells at Widnes Wild in the NIHL 1 and Peterborough Phantoms in the NIHL. This led him into last season, and in a trophy-laden campaign, he iced in 35 games, scoring 22 goals, 24 assists for 46 points for the Stars.
On signing with the Caps, Conner had this to say, “After having a whirlwind year in Billingham when the opportunity for something closer to home was presented, I jumped at the chance.
“Having played under Steven a number of times in juniors through the Scotland setup I knew I was in good hands, pairing this with playing in front of the best fans in the league, it was an easy decision.
“Coming off a Grand Slam last season, I’m committed to success in Edinburgh. I want to win trophies for this club, and I’m prepared to give everything to the team to do that.
“I couldn’t be happier to be spending next season in a Caps jersey, and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans and bring silverware back to Edinburgh.”
Assistant Coach Chad Smith knows Conner is a massive signing who will contribute offensively and said, “Conner is a player we have kept a close eye on for a few seasons now. He is skilful and will bring speed to our forward lines. Being a very smart player, he also has a nose for the net.
“After speaking with Conner recently, Lynchy and I knew he would be a great fit for the club. He is an ambitious player who is very keen to make an impact in his first season with the Caps.
“Down in Billingham last season, he had a successful year playing his part in a Grand Slam. Having winners on the roster is only going to put us in a better place, and Conner brings that.”
