Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the re-signing of netminder Ciaran Hoggan for the 2026-2027 SNL campaign.
Titch will return as part of the netminding duo along with the recently announced Ben Keddie. This will be Titch’s 4th season as a Caps player, having signed with the club back in 2023-2024, where he previously played with Kirkcaldy Kestrels.
Last term, the 28-year-old iced for 540 minutes, facing 223 shots, conceding 21 goals to give him a save percentage of 90.6 and a goals against average of 2.33. He was also a great help to youngster Ben Keddie, giving him valuable experience; they both had a great relationship working with each other throughout the season.
Titch will again push Ben hard and will be a valuable part of the team both on and off the ice. A great character around the locker room and a huge fan favourite who always has time and a smile for the Caps faithful.
Having grown up in the Dundee junior system, he then progressed into senior hockey and played with Dundee Comets, Dundee Tigers, Aberdeen Lynx, and the Kestrels over the years. He also had a brief spell as a backup in the EIHL with Dundee Stars and Fife Flyers.
On returning for his 4th campaign, Titch said, “It’s great to be back for my 4th season as a Caps player. Ever since I joined the club back in 2023, I have loved being part of what we are building here.
“Last season was special picking up a double, and hopefully we can carry this on, defend these trophies, and go for more in the upcoming campaign.
“The fans have played a huge part in our success, and I’m sure they will be back in their numbers come September when we hit the ice. Until then, have a great summer, and I will see you all soon.”
Head Coach Steven Lynch knows how important it is to have two goalies pushing each other week in week out and said, “Titch is returning for a fourth year with the Capitals, and we are all delighted with this. During his time with the team, he has become a very dependable goalie who we know we can trust with whatever situation we put him in.
“Another guy who loves playing in Edinburgh, he was the first one who came to me at the end of last year to say he wanted to be a part of things during the 26/27 season. As a coach, you love having those conversations with your players, and it was a no-brainer to get him back again for another year.”
That is our two goalies now in place, and more signings will come very soon over the summer.
LET’S GO CAPITALS!
