Edinburgh Capitals will kick off the 2026-2027 season with two pre-season friendlies against SNL rivals Dundee Rockets on Saturday 22 August (6:30pm) and Sunday 23 August (5:30pm) at Murrayfield Ice Arena.
These exciting matchups will form part of a Festival of Edinburgh Ice Hockey, with the newly formed Edinburgh Capitals Academy also taking to the ice earlier on both days.
The Capitals and Rockets enjoyed a fierce rivalry throughout last season, meeting regularly across all competitions. The Caps had the upper hand in the league campaign, securing the title, and also overcame the Rockets in the Scottish Cup semi-final – a memorable Friday night at Murrayfield that won’t be forgotten anytime soon. However, Dundee gained revenge in the Playoff Final, defeating the Capitals to claim the final piece of silverware on offer.
Both clubs have been hard at work during the summer and have added several new faces to already strong rosters, setting the stage for two highly competitive encounters.
What better way to start the new season? We hope you’ll join us at Murrayfield to enjoy the action and get your first glimpse of Steven Lynch’s new-look Edinburgh Capitals team.
Tickets are now on sale via our Fanbase page.
Please note that these pre-season fixtures are not included in season ticket packages.
LET’S GO CAPITALS!
