Quinny Happy To Be Back

21/05/2023

Edinburgh Capitals are excited to announce the return signing of Edinburgh-born defenceman, Josh Quinn.

Quinny joins the 2023-24 SNL roster having iced in 28 games last term for the club. He grabbed two assists whilst also bringing a wealth of experience to the line-up.

The soon to be 30 year old progressed through the Murrayfield Junior system before stepping up to the Capitals SNL team in 2013. He remained part of the roster until 2018 before joining the Murrayfield Racers.

He has already picked up a couple of SNL titles along the way in his career, and this is something he will be looking to repeat in the upcoming campaign.

We caught up with Quinny and he can’t wait to be back. “I am delighted to return to the Edinburgh Capitals for the upcoming 2023/24 season. Last season we had a good team and a great bunch of guys! I can say I am happy to be part of that again.

It was a tough one for us all to swallow finishing second at the end of the season losing to Aberdeen. We have many positives to take into the new season. I’m looking forward to getting back on the ice and hopefully this season we can win some trophies.

I’m sure the boys will agree that the support from the fans last year was incredible. We’d like to see you all again for the upcoming season.”

As always Head Coach Steven Lynch was delighted to bring back a player who was such a huge part of the locker room. “It’s great that Josh has committed himself to the Caps for another season. He was a very likeable guy in the dressing room last year who always gives 100% and is easy to coach. He takes on board everything that is said to him, and he made good improvements to his game as the season went on. We hope that he can continue this to help us challenge for trophies this season.

He was another that intimated early that he wanted to return, and it was another one of those 30-second conversations I’ve had with many of last year’s team to get him signed up for another year. As a local boy who grew up watching the Capitals, it’s important to have players like Josh in our line up and we welcome him back for 2023/24.”
