Shevy iced on a two-way deal with Solway Sharks and the Caps last season. After starting the new campaign in Solway it has been agreed between the clubs that Kian will play the remainder of the season again as a Cap, here in the SNL.This is a welcome addition to Steven Lynch’s roster, Kian will bring youth and toughness to the blue line. In 20 games last term, Shevy scored 2 goals and 3 assists for a total of 5 points. He also spent 33 minutes in the penalty box.
Our strong link with the Solway Sharks has seen us secure another signature of young upcoming talent. We would like to thank Martin Grubb and the Sharks management for making this move happen.
The 17-year-old, 6ft 6” D-man grew up playing in the Kirkcaldy junior system. He spent a year in America at U14 level before returning to Scotland to join Dundee U16s. He then moved to Solway at the start of the 2022-23 season. There he iced with the U19s and the NIHL 1 Grand Slam winning team. As you all know he also split his time with us here at the Caps.
Head Coach Steven Lynch had this to say on the return of Kian, “It’s great news that we have Kian with us again for the remainder of the year. I’ve been speaking with the Solway coaching staff about this possibility since the summer and I’m glad it’s now happening.
I’ve known him since he was a little boy and helped him take his first steps on ice at Learn To Play in Kirkcaldy. I’ve seen and been part of his development over the years since so I know what we’re getting. He’s going to give us size and competitiveness at the back end which we have been needing and have been trying to address, and more options as the season goes on.
Kian goes straight into the squad for our two games this weekend against Dundee Tigers and Kirkcaldy Kestrels.
LET’S GO CAPITALS!
