Cammy Makes It Season 3 As A Cap

19/07/2024

Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the re-signing of forward Cammy Gallagher for the 2024-25 SNL campaign.

Cammy an Edinburgh-born and bred player makes it a 3rd season playing out of the Lion’s Den as a Capital. Last season in his first full season as a senior hockey player he played in 34 games picking up 2 assists. He will look to build on that this season and will be working hard to push his way into the team.

Progressing through the Murrayfield junior system the 20-year-old right winger gained valuable experience in his last year of junior training with the Caps before finally stepping up to senior hockey at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Away from the rink Cammy recently represented Team GB at the Ball Hockey World Championships in Switzerland. Having impressed the coaches playing for the U23s last year he was then selected for the senior squad.

On returning to the Caps Cammy had this to say, “It’s great to be back for another season and playing in front of the great Caps fans. Let’s hope we can get some more silverware as last season was great winning the Play Offs and the Northern League.

The Lion’s Den was rocking throughout the season and the team can’t wait to be back out there playing in front of you all again.

With the countdown now on for the start of the season and with the signings so far it’s going to be an exciting year ahead.”

Head Coach Steven Lynch knows the importance of having depth on the roster. “Cammy is a great guy to have in the locker room and although he maybe never saw as much ice time as he would have hoped last season his attitude stayed positive throughout.

Hopefully, more chances will arise this season for him and we know that he won’t let us down out on the ice when called upon. The Blackburn game when we went away with a very short bench last season showed that he was more than capable of holding his own at senior level.

It was also great to see him representing Team GB at the World Ball Hockey Championships through the summer.”

More signing news is coming very soon. Stay tuned!
