Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce that Head Coach Steven Lynch will return for his 4th season in charge of the club.
Lynchy will lead the team into the 2025-2026 SNL campaign. He will start building his team immediately for the new season, which will kick off in September. 2024-2025 didn’t pan out as the club had hoped, but Steven is desperate to make sure that does not happen again this upcoming campaign.
Since taking on the coaching role at the Caps in 2022, Lynchy has led the team to a Play Off title, a Northern League title, and two Northern Challenge Cup wins. In all 3 years, the team has finished in 2nd spot in the SNL, but he is determined to turn that around and grab that top spot come next April.
Being a former Caps player for 8 years and now 3 years as Head Coach, no one wants the club to succeed more than Steven. It will be an interesting summer as he recruits his roster, and we are sure it will be a team the Caps fans will enjoy watching week in, week out here in the Lion’s Den.
On returning to the club, Steven had this to say, “The job’s not done yet. Finishing runners-up 3 years in a row only makes me more determined to see this out and achieve our goal. Everyone involved with the club is disappointed right now, trust me when I say no one more than me. There’s a lot of work to do to prepare for next season to get ready to go again, and this is a huge summer for us recruitment wise.
I’ve always made it clear what this club means to me. I won’t stop giving it everything I’ve got.”
