Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the return of defenceman Scott Geddes for the 2025-2026 SNL campaign.
Scott has become a firm fan favourite here in the capital, and it’s great to see he will return for his 3rd year as a Caps player. In the previous 2 campaigns, Scotty has played in 73 games, scoring 7 goals and 23 assists for a total of 30 points.
The 31-year-old blueliner brings vast experience to the D core, having been around the SNL his whole career. He will once again be a valuable member of the roster this upcoming season with his cool head at the backend.
Growing up in the Kirkcaldy Junior system, Scott then progressed to senior hockey, playing with a number of clubs over the last decade. He has won numerous championships along the way, and he will be hoping to add more to his hockey CV come next April.
Scott is loving his time here in Edinburgh and had this to say on signing back for another year, “I’m really excited to be back for another season with the Caps. I really feel at home in Edinburgh, we have the best room I’ve been a part of, and it was a no-brainer for me to come back.
“My call with Lynchy a few weeks ago was a relatively short chat because there’s nowhere else I want to play. Obviously, last season was disappointing in terms of how it ended, but I feel like we were never too far away from making it a good one.
“A few results didn’t go our way, and there’s definitely a few performances we would want back, but I feel with a few changes we will be competing at the top again.
“The fans and atmosphere on game night are unmatched in this league, and we hope that we have a successful year to repay our loyal fan base. I’m no spring chicken now, but I’m still as hungry as ever to win silverware.”
Assistant Coach Chad Smith knows what they are getting from Scott and him, and Head Coach Steven Lynch moved fast to sign him up once again. “Scott is a big part of the team; he’s one of our leaders both on and off the ice. He is steady on the blueline, plays with a calmness, and has a lot of experience in the SNL.
“He is also one of the fan favourites, so we were never in doubt about getting him back onboard for his 3rd season with the Caps.
“It is vital to have a mixture of youth and experience on the roster and, in Scott, we know he will be on hand to help the younger players. This is valuable in any team, and we are delighted he has chosen to return.”
Further signings will be announced very soon, over the coming days.
