The Belfast Boy Is Back

16/06/2025

Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the re-signing of forward Adam Robinson for the 2025-2026 SNL campaign.

Belfast-born Adam showed last season he is a vital part of the roster, and he will be looking to contribute once again offensively for the team. In 32 games last term, he scored 6 goals and 10 assists whilst also bringing valuable experience to the locker room and out there on the ice.

Having grown up in Northern Ireland, the 28-year-old came through the Belfast Giants Junior system before progressing into the SNL with his hometown team back in 2012. In 2016-17, he played a year of junior hockey in the GMHL over in Canada. Based in Ontario, Adam signed with the Meaford Knights, scoring 10 points in 41 games.

On his return to the UK, he trained with Elite League side Belfast Giants and made 8 appearances in 2017-18 for the team he grew up supporting. Spells at Solway Sharks, followed by a return to the Giants SNL side, would then see him sign with Dundee Comets for the 2022-23 campaign. It was in Dundee that he would win a Scottish Cup and Play Off trophy alongside our very own Scott Geddes.

A season in the NIHL 1 with Whitley Warriors was to follow before signing up here in Edinburgh last summer. On returning for his second year here at the Lion’s Den, Adam said, “I’m super excited to be back for another season here in Edinburgh! The culture and the fan base made the decision so easy. I’m positive that we will have something to celebrate this year.

“When Lynchy asked if I wanted to return, it was a no-brainer. We didn’t have the season we had hoped for last time out, but the boys will be desperate to change that.

“Already, the team is coming together nicely, and it will be exciting to see what other additions we will make before the action kicks off. See you in September, Caps Fans.”

Head Coach Steven Lynch knows how vital it is to have experience on his roster, and Adam fits that bill. “Adam made it clear very early on that he wanted to return for another year, and it didn’t take a lot of thought on our part to bring him back.

“He’s a fantastic guy to work with, honest, selfless, hardworking, and a great teammate.

“It’s a huge commitment for him to do the travelling that he does each week, but he does it without any complaint and just loves playing hockey.

“He’ll have a big part to play this season in any success we are to have, and we’re delighted we’ve got him back for another year.”

More signing news is still to come. Keep your eye on the Caps media channels over the coming days and weeks.
