Titch Signs On For Another Year

26/06/2025

Edinburgh Capitals are delighted to announce the re-signing of netminder Ciaran Hoggan for the 2025-2026 SNL campaign.

‘Titch’ is back for his 3rd season here as a Cap, having signed from Kirkcaldy Kestrels back in the summer of 2023. Last season, Titch split the netminding duties with the recently retired Craig Chalmers. This upcoming season, he will be part of a goalie trio also including new signings Liam Griffin and Ben Keddie. All three will be pushing each other hard week in week out, fighting it out for that starting position.

The Caps fans will be excited to see Titch return, having become a fan favourite over the last two seasons. The 27-year-old brings experience to the room, having played with Dundee Comets, Dundee Tigers, Aberdeen Lynx, and the Kestrels over the years.

If we are to have success this season, our goalies need to give the team a chance to win every game. In Hoggan, Keddie, and Griffin, we will get just that.

On his return, Titch has this to say, “I’m happy to be back in the Lion’s Den. It’s a fun place to play hockey, and I have really enjoyed the last two years here with the Capitals.

“We are building again for the new season, and the team is coming along nicely. Before we know it, September will be here, and I can’t wait to get started in front of the awesome fans.

“Enjoy the rest of your summer.”

Assistant Coach Chad Smith knows how vital it will be to have solid goaltending and is happy to see Titch back once again. “Titch returning gives us that bit of experience in the nets, and that will stand us in good stead going forward.

“He has had a decent two years so far as a Caps player, and we will be looking for him to carry this on, helping Ben and Liam along the way.

“Solid goaltending is so important if we are to have success this coming season. Lynchy and I feel we have signed 3 very good goalies that will push each other at training to be better, which can only benefit the team.”

That completes our goalie positions, so stay tuned for the rest of our D and forward signings in the near future.

LET’S GO CAPITALS!
