A Kestrel Lands In Edinburgh

04/06/2026

Edinburgh Capitals are excited to announce the signing of forward Scott Jamieson ahead of the 2026-2027 SNL campaign.

The 25-year-old joins the Capitals from league rivals the Kirkcaldy Kestrels, where he enjoyed another productive campaign in 2025-2026. Across 35 appearances in all competitions, Scott recorded 22 goals and 5 assists for 27 points. A proven offensive threat with extensive experience at both SNL and Elite League levels, he adds significant quality and leadership to the Capitals forward group.

Having spent his entire career to date in his hometown of Kirkcaldy, the move to Edinburgh marks an exciting new chapter. Scott first broke into senior hockey with the Kestrels during the 2017-2018 season, making an immediate impact by posting an impressive 44 points in just 18 games.
The following season saw him continue his development through both junior and senior hockey, while also earning selection for the Great Britain Under-18 squad at the World Championships.
In 2019-2020, Scott stepped up to Elite League hockey with the Fife Flyers, featuring in 38 games and gaining valuable experience at the highest level of British ice hockey.

Following the pandemic, he returned to the Flyers for the 2021-2022 campaign, appearing in 59 games and contributing 1 goal and 3 assists. The following season, he stepped down to the SNL with the Kestrels, producing an outstanding 47 points (27 goals, 20 assists) in just 26 games. He also made four appearances for the Bristol Pitbulls in the NIHL.

Scott continued his impressive form in 2023-2024, registering 26 goals and 34 assists for 60 points in 38 games. He followed that up in 2024-2026 with 18 goals and 13 assists for 31 points in just 23 appearances.

Last season, Scott was named captain of the Kestrels, taking on a leadership role and helping guide the club’s younger players. He now arrives in Edinburgh as a player expected to make a major impact both on and off the ice, bringing experience, leadership, and a proven scoring touch to the Capitals lineup.

On signing with the Capitals, Scott said, “I’m very excited to have a fresh start and try something new. I had it in my head that I wasn’t going to play again this year, but then Lynchy and Chad got in touch. After a few meetings and conversations with them, as well as discussions with family and friends, I felt this was the best option for me.

“I’ve played in front of the Capitals fans before and it’s always been a fantastic atmosphere. I’m looking forward to being on their side this season rather than playing against them.

“I can’t wait to be part of what’s being built in Edinburgh. I’m really excited to get started, show everyone what I’m capable of, and show what I can bring to the team.”

Head Coach Steven Lynch knows just how important this signing could be for the Capitals, “This is a big signing for us. Scott is the type of player who can turn a game in an instant. We’ve had to suffer watching him score a lot of goals against us over the last 4 years, and now it’s great that we’ve got him on our side.

“I’ve known him since he was a teenager and have coached him at various junior levels. I know his family well and his background, so we know exactly what type of player we are getting. He is fast, skilled, has good hands, a good shot, and is creative in the offensive zone.

He’s admitted that he hasn’t been enjoying hockey for a year or two and needed a change, and there’s no better fan base than ours to give him his spark back. Having Scott on our team simply makes us better. I’m looking forward to working with him again and can’t wait to see him in Capitals colours.”

As Lynchy says, this is a BIG signing for the club. More names will follow over the next few weeks.
