Our final pre-season fixture announcement sees your Edinburgh Capitals take on NIHL side the Solway IHC in an exciting weekend double-header on the 29th and 30th of August.
The Capitals will make the journey to Dumfries on the Saturday evening for a 7:00pm face-off before returning home to the Lion’s Den on the Sunday, where Solway IHC visit Edinburgh for a 5:30pm puck drop.
These two clubs are no strangers to one another, having met in pre-season action over the last few years. Once again, it promises to be a huge challenge against strong opposition from a higher league, and one that everyone at the club is eagerly anticipating.
Steven Lynch and his squad will play a total of six pre-season games, with four taking place at the Lion’s Den and two on the road. The schedule begins with a home double-header against the Dundee Rockets, followed by the two clashes with the Solway IHC, before finishing with a pair of games against the Blackburn Hawks.
Lynchy had this to say about the exciting pre-season schedule, “We’ve worked really hard to put these six exciting pre-season games together. Every game will provide a good test for us and give our fans some great entertainment too.
“The games against Dundee will reignite what has become a fantastic rivalry over recent years and set the tone for the season ahead. Both teams have strengthened over the summer and will be looking to gain an early psychological edge before competitive action begins.
“Solway will be another great challenge. We relish the opportunity to test ourselves against stronger opposition from higher leagues, and the games against Blackburn will see the SNL and NIHL North champions go head-to-head as we once again fly the flag for Scottish ice hockey.
