Now that the dust has settled, the club would like to look back and reflect on the 2025-2026 campaign. We are sure you will all agree it was a season to remember. From starting away back in late August in the preseason to our final game on Sunday night in Dundee in the Play Off Final.
Yes, Sunday night did not go as we had hoped, but what occurred prior to that was something incredibly special: SNL League Champions 2025-2026 and Scottish Cup Champions 2025-2026.
There were so many highs and very few lows this season. How can we ever forget that 8-1 win in Whitley to clinch the league title, that 1-0 win in the Scottish Cup Final over in Kirkcaldy, selling out the Lionโs Den for the first time in Caps history on Hogmanay, that OT goal by Joe against Dundee to clinch our place in that Scottish Cup Finalโฆthe list goes on.
Head Coach Steven Lynch and the boys gave everything from start to finish. They done the club proud and we are positive they done you fans proud. There are so many people to thank, from sponsors, match night volunteers, and rink staff, and we could be here all day. You all know who you are, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your time and effort week after week.
Did we make mistakes off the ice? Yes of course, but we are learning game by game, and all we want is to bring you the best match night experience we can when you come to watch the Edinburgh Capitals here at Murrayfield Ice Arena. There are so many plans in the pipeline to make it bigger and better, and we will not stop pushing this club forward.
Finally, to the fans, to say you have been incredible this season is an understatement. Each and every one of you has been there to support the team game after game. The Lionโs Roar gets louder and louder, and we cannot thank you enough for your support. The two Championship wins were not just for the coaching staff and players; they were also for all of you.
It is sad that the campaign has now come to an end, but when one season disappears, another one is just around the corner. Signing news for season 2026-2027 will be here before you know it, and the days are already counting down to puck drop in late August/early September.
Until then, enjoy your off-season and remember if you are having a drink in the summer sun at any point, do not just have a singleโฆmake it a DOUBLE!!
